Receive an unexpected invoice prior to the end of your billing cycle?
Most of the time, you'll get one invoice per billing period (monthly or yearly). However, if your usage runs significantly above what your plan's base fee covers, we may issue an additional invoice mid-cycle rather than waiting for your normal billing date.
This is called threshold billing, and it helps both sides stay on top of usage costs in real time, with no end-of-month surprises.
When does threshold billing apply?
Threshold billing applies to:
Pay-as-you-go, on every billing cycle.
Monthly subscriptions on the Essential, Lite, Plus, Growth, Pro, and X plans.
Threshold billing does not apply to:
Yearly plans of any kind. These continue to receive a single invoice per billing period as normal.
Ticketing plans, regardless of frequency. Usage is trued up at the end of the period as normal.
How is the threshold worked out?
The threshold is set at twice your monthly base fee.
For example, if your monthly base fee is $50, an additional invoice will be issued once your unbilled usage charges reach $100. If your monthly base fee is $500, the threshold is $1,000. The threshold scales with the plan you're on, so larger plans have proportionally larger thresholds before an additional invoice is issued.
What does this mean for me?
You'll only ever see a mid-cycle invoice if your usage substantially exceeds what your base fee includes. The total amount you pay is exactly the same as if you'd been billed at the end of the period. Nothing extra is charged, it's just billed sooner. Your next regular invoice (at your normal billing date) will only cover usage from after the threshold invoice was issued.
Want to avoid mid-cycle invoices?
If you'd prefer a single invoice per period, you can switch to a Yearly plan, or upgrade to a plan that includes usage better matched to your actual session volume.
