Squarespace makes it straightforward to add third-party tracking and Seeka is no exception. You'll use Squarespace's built-in Code Injection to drop in a small script, and from there Seeka handles the rest.
The whole process takes about 2 minutes. Once the script is live, page views are tracked automatically and you can layer on custom events (like form submissions or button clicks) whenever you're ready.
Before you start
Code Injection is available on Squarespace Business and Commerce plans. If you're on the Personal plan, you'll need to upgrade before you can install Seeka.
Step 1: Grab your tracking script from Seeka
In Seeka, go to Apps
Find Squarespace and click Connect
Click Copy script tag to copy the tracking script to your clipboard
Step 2: Paste it into Squarespace
Log in to your Squarespace account at squarespace.com
Click Settings in the left sidebar
Click Advanced
Click Code Injection
Paste the copied script into the Header code box
Click Save
The Header field injects code into the <head> tag on every page of your site, which is exactly where the Seeka script needs to live.
Step 3: Configure your events
Page views start flowing into Seeka straight away, nothing extra to do there.
Want to track form submissions, button clicks, or other interactions? Use the Express Setup Tool:
Back in Seeka's Squarespace setup screen, paste your website URL into the field provided
Click Launch Express Setup Tool
Navigate through your pages and create the events you need
Events go live in real time as you create them
Note: Event setup requires access to Seeka and cannot be completed by an external developer.
Step 4: Verify everything's working
Once you've set up your events, give them a quick test run with the diagnostic streamer:
Paste the URL of any page on your site and click Launch diagnostic
Navigate through your site and trigger the events you want to test
The streamer shows each event as it fires, including the data sent and which destinations received it
You can also access the full diagnostic streamer with advanced view from Settings → Events → Diagnostics at any time.
Troubleshooting
Script not firing? Make sure you pasted it in the Header field (not Footer) and clicked Save.
On a Personal plan? Code Injection isn't available on Squarespace's Personal plan. You'll need to upgrade to Business or Commerce.
