Connecting your Tiktok™️ Pixel as a data destination
Connecting your Tiktok™️ Pixel as a data destination
Updated over 8 months ago

Connecting your Tiktok™️ pixel to Seeka is easy and can be done in about a minute.

This will allow browser and server events to be sent to TikTok™️, and all it requires is a "Pixel ID" and an "Events API token", which you'll find in Tiktok™️ Events Manager.

🚨 IMPORTANT🚨

Before we begin, please ensure that the TikTok™️ pixel is not already installed on your site. Learn how to check that here.

Connecting your TikTok™️ Pixel to Seeka

  1. Open the Seeka App and navigate to Destinations

  2. Ensure you're in the correct Organisation and Brand then click the Connect Destination button and Select Tiktok.

  3. Leave this browser window open and open a new tab or window

  4. In a new open tab, navigate to your TikTok™ Ads Manager account

  5. From the top menu select 'Tools'.

  6. Then select 'Events.'

  7. Identify the pixel you want to connect to Seeka and click on the name of the pixel which will be blue.

  8. If you need to create a new pixel, remember to select Manually install pixel code and Developer Mode. Follow the below steps after creation.

  9. From the menu near the top left of the page select 'Settings.'

  10. Copy the Pixel ID and Paste it into the Pixel ID field in Seeka.

The pixel ID is a series of numbers and letters.

    Example: ID: C8E7HRQ4VMZHDQEFMPR

  11. Turn the Automatic Advanced Matching toggle to on

  12. Ensure Email and Phone Number are checked on

  13. Scroll down until you see a Generate Access Token button.

  14. Click the button and wait for the access token to generate.

  15. Copy the token and paste it into the 'Access Token' field in the Seeka App.

  16. Push the Connect Tiktok button

How to check if your pixel is already installed on your site independent of Seeka 🧐

There is ZERO benefit to having a pixel installed via another method while using Seeka.

If the same pixel that Seeka is sending data to as a 'destination' is also installed independently of Seeka, the following conflicts will most likely occur:

  • The double firing of events

  • Platform errors

  • A decline in campaign performance

  • A decline in event match quality

  • Incorrect attribution

The easiest way to check is to Download the TikTok™️ Chrome pixel helper extension HERE. The installation will allow you to view the pixel and events of any TikTok™️ Pixel if set up on any website.

Checking for a pixel before setting up Seeka

When using the TikTok™️ pixel helper extension to check for an installed pixel, you will see your pixel listed as per the example below, if it is installed on your site.
